Want to recover data from windows Vista?

While organizing my documents I found several useless files which I started deleting permanently i.e. with shift + del and you know how harmful it proved for me as one of my vital document file was deleted in this process. Is recovery of permanently deleted files possible from Windows vista OS. How it can be done?
