Trouble converting mkv to MPEG says file cannot be read; make sure that necessary codec to decompress the file is available?

While converting MKV to MPEG, I got an error that said file cannot be read, please check whether the format can be decompressed on this computer make sure that the necessary codec to decompress the file is available?

princy 		It seems the mkv converter you are using is not able to do the decoding correctly as is not proficient enough. Try to look for good ones, like Pavtube MKV converter for Mac for using on Mac OS X and similarly for Windows OS.
