Is it possible to download an online image with a PHP script?

I want to know that is there is any possibility to download an online image with a PHP script, as such I have tried this but I think that the process was wrong. I have used file_get_contents but that has showed me Unicode file, I want to know that how should I change it back to an image?

cathee 		The first thing is that the images are not in Unicode but they are in binary and there is no need to use file_get_contents. The easy method to perform this activity is by installing PHP photo gallery, this will help you to have nice running free photo album in just few minutes. All you have to do is to install it as web space so that it can host your photo album with PHP and GD support and an SQL database. Simply you have to unzip the program files and upload your web host, configure image gallery then run the install-script then you can upload your photos by using the http and ftp, then run the scan script and then you are done!
