How to transfer songs from iPod to Mac machine?

I am planning to purchase a new iPod i.e. iPod touch, so that I can see video and songs in much enlarged form, and for that I want to transfer my collection from iPod to Mac and when I get the new one I can copy the files into iPod touch. Is it possible? If yes, how?

Yes, it is possible with the aid of third party programmers & for this you need iPod file transfer software and it transfers songs and movies to Mac as well as Windows OS and works easily in accordance with the iPod used.
